Rollerski Clinic with Teacup Nordic

June 26, 2022 9:00am

Take an introduction to rollerskiing clinic with Teacup Nordic coaching staff on Sunday 6/26! They will provide a 1.5 hour clinic on safe practices, control and balance on rollerskis, and some additional information on modern ski technique. This is not a "learn to ski" lesson. Participants should be comfortable with on-snow ski technique. This clinic is about how to transfer those skills (safely!) to dryland training. While the emphasis is on skate skiing, there will be a limited number of classic rollerskis available as well. The skills addressed in the clinic will benefit either style. The event coaches will be Karl, who has been sharing his love of skiing for 40+ years and is a USSA Level 200 coach, and Kelly, the Program Coach at Teacup who has been working alongside Karl for 7 yrs now.

When: June 26 at 9:00am

Where: Broughton Beach parking lot and the Marine Drive bike path (an alternative site is being explored as well)

Cost: This is a fee clinic run by the Coaching Staff at Teacup Nordic. As a free event, if pleased with the event a donation to Teacup will be appreciated!

What to bring: Participants will need to provide their own skate or classic boots and poles. Poles will need to be of high quality "track" type, as it is imperative that the poles have basket tips made of carbide steel (found on all performance level XC poles). Bike helmets are mandatory, and gloves are highly advised. Rollerskis will be provided by Mountain Shop. Given the limited number of rollerskis, a reservation is required.
