SheJumps is excited to offer an avalanche awareness evening for women, taught by Bend-based backcountry skier and board member of the Central Oregon Avalanche Association, Alli Miles! This is a great opportunity to begin learning about avalanche terrain, or brush up on the basics before the next season of backcountry shredding.
Alli is a Bend-based backcountry skier who is passionate about avalanche education and encouraging winter backcountry users to take advantage of available resources in order to make good decisions and stay safe. She works full-time in the marketing department at Ruffwear, regularly ski touring before work with her dog Riggins, and serves on the board of directors for the Central Oregon Avalanche Association. Alli attended the SheJumps Alpine Finishing School in 2017 and taught a companion rescue clinic at the SheJumps Get Out the Girls Mt. Bachelor event in 2018. Inspired in part by these experiences, Alli has begun the process of becoming an AIARE avalanche instructor and AMGA ski guide. She is excited to continue building her professional experiences while sharing her learnings with others.
