ultrarunner & multisport adventurer
Since I fell in love with trail running at a young age, that’s remained my primary lifelong passion, but I’ve also pursued other activities that were soulful to me. I’ve gone deep into whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, surfing, skate skiing, fastpacking, and, more recently, packrafting, bikepacking, and ski mountaineering. I love all forms of human powered travel and just moving through nature in a simple and compelling way. I’d say right now that I’m most passionate about longer, multiday adventures to more remote places doing things that call for a wide ranging mix of skills.
I play fiddle in a local bluegrass band.
An athlete I admire:
I’m regularly blown away and inspired by the performances of top athletes. It’s hard not to admire their achievements. I also have huge admiration for the people I get to spend time with, friends and local badasses that share the same appetite for wild places and good adventures. So many cool people are all around us. They’re out there regularly doing things that are truly amazing. We have an abundance of incredible trails and mountains and wild places here in the pacific northwest. It’s no wonder there’s a tribe of people out there enjoying and exploring it on a regular basis. The regular denizens of these wild haunts are the people I look up to the most because they are a constant source of inspiration.
