Mountaineering

Anurag Nallavelli
Anurag Nallavelli is a climber inspired by the world’s biggest and most iconic peaks! Anurag has summited Mt. Dhaulagiri, the world’s 7th highest peak and Mt. Manaslu, the world’s 8th highest peak, both without supplemental oxygen.

Anurag grew up in India and moved to the U.S. in 2015, where he was first introduced to the outdoors. In 2018 he had his first backpacking experience, and in 2020 he thru-hiked the Colorado Trail during lockdown. Anu then moved to Oregon where he got deep in to climbing - summiting Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, and many other local PNW peaks. When his climbing partner told him about their dream of Denali, Anurag was intrigued and decided to attempt it with his partner unguided. He trained rigorously for 6 months and climbed Denali successfully in June, 2021. Denali gave him the confidence and strength to attempt bigger mountain objectives.

Anurag climbs not only for his personal goals, but for a cause. While training for Denali he raised funds for Himalayan Trust for kids education in Nepal. During his Denali climb he supported Summits In Solidarity to stand against racial discrimination. While Climbing Manaslu, he raised funds for Nepal Youth Foundation to support kids education, health, and wellbeing.

When he is not climbing, Anurag is a full time software engineer and spends time volunteering at an animal sanctuary and promoting a plant-based lifestyle.
